Kate Klassen is a commercial pilot and flight instructor on both airplanes and remotely piloted aircraft. She completed her BBA – Aviation at the University of New Brunswick in 2010 graduating with her degree as well as a commercial pilot licence with instrument, night and multi-engine ratings. Kate began working in the unmanned side of the aviation industry in 2014 after working for several years as a flight instructor.  She has since become the Training and Regulation Specialist at InDro Robotics, and is known for her involvement in the training of Canadian drone pilots. In the fall of 2018, Kate completed a Management of Technology MBA from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser and has been serving on the board of the Aerial Evolution Association of Canada (formerly Unmanned Systems Canada) since 2018.

She has been called upon regularly to consult on training-adjacent initiatives for public, industry and government-led groups such as the development of RPAS 101, the RPAS revisions for the Aeronautical Information Manual, Small RPAS Pilot Knowledge Requirement document, examination development and held the role of Industry Co-Chair on Transport Canada’s Drone Advisory Committee, CanaDAC.
