Mai Bui leads the award-winning Data Analytics team at UBC’s Development and Alumni Engagement, where she bridges the gap between data analytics and strategic decision-making. Collaborating closely with senior leadership across the portfolio, she leads a dedicated team of data analysts who leverage data science methodologies to uncover actionable insights that inform fundraising and alumni engagement strategies.
Mai specializes in harnessing the power of communication, data science methodology, and dashboarding to go beyond the data and convey the story behind the numbers. She is deeply committed to fostering an organizational culture where data analytics and AI are both integral to decision-making and highly accessible to business leaders. Mai is a member of the Reporting and Analytics peer group of data professionals across Canada specializing in university advancement, and has shared her expertise on AI and analytics in a fundraising/non-profit context at international forums such as AFP, CASE, and APRA.
