Sherry Rumbolt is a Senior Cybersecurity Strategic Advisor within the Government of Canada. With more than 25 + years of extensive experience and knowledge in Information Management (IM), Information Technology (IT) and Cybersecurity. She previously held several senior level Cybersecurity positions within the Department of National Defence/Canadian Armed Forces, the Government of British Columbia and served in the Army Signals Corps for more than 21 years.
In 2023, Sherry was honoured for her lifetime achievements as a leading Women in Cybersecurity for Canada by SiberX, Canadian Women in Cybersecurity Conference. In 2021, she was named as one of Canada’s Top 25 Women in Defence, and named as one of Canada’s Top 20 Women in Cybersecurity in 2020. Sherry currently sits on a variety of Advisory Boards within Canada with a focus on educating future generations of Cybersecurity experts and spreading the word about the importance of continuous Cybersecurity improvement. She is passionate about empowering women, minorities, veterans, and persons with disabilities to have equivalent opportunities for employment within Cybersecurity and tirelessly strives to increase the low percentages of representation within Canada.
Sherry holds several certifications in Cybersecurity including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
